Johannes Zschocke, Dr. med. Ph.D., studied Medicine in Freiburg (Germany) and Belfast (N Ireland), and worked in Human Genetics and Paediatrics at the Universities of Belfast (N Ireland), Marburg and Heidelberg (Germany). In 2008 he was appointed Professor and Chair of Human Genetics at the Medical University Innsbruck, Austria, where he is also Director of the Department of Genetics. As Head of the Centre for Medical Genetics Innsbruck he is responsible for the genetic services for Western Austria and beyond. His own clinical and research focus is on inherited metabolic diseases.
