Dr. Azevedo graduated in Biology and completed a PhD in Biology in 2004 by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. Currently, Dr. Azevedo is senior researcher at the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS, U.Porto), integrated member of the Unit for Multidisciplinary Research in Biomedicine (UMIB), and member of the One Health Office which is devoted to the diffusion and dissemination of the One Health approach. Dr. Azevedo has been active in establishing scientific and academic collaborations and obtaining funds from competitive calls. She has a large experience in the supervision of students (PhD and MSc). In the last years, the outputs of the research achieved a significant milestone when the team was able to demonstrate the importance of considering the intramolecular epistatic process to accurately determine phenotype-genotype relationships in several protein models.
